Fasciolosis Infection Level of Various Breed Cattle in Batu and Pujon District, East Java, Indonesia

Fasciolosis is a disease caused by Fasciola gigantica (Cobbold, 1855) or hepatica (Linnaeus, 1758) that infected ruminants and liver damaged loss of productivity. To control in cattle, it necessary to consider differences the prevalence number cases various cattle breed. This research was conducted two slaughterhouses Batu Pujon District, Malang Regency, East Java, Indonesia involving 50 livestock each slaughterhouse, either beef dairy cattle. Observation done for 2 mo performing necropsy, observing presence fibrosis calcification bile duct, counting worms weighing removed tissue. Result this fasciolosis Ongole Limousin (30.95 % 35.94 %) fewer compared Simmental Frisian Holstein (58.33 %). Average head –1 breed; Limousin, Simmental, Ongole, FH were (105, 49, 27 129) worms. Meanwhile, score group 1.48, 1.89, 1.33 1.75 respectively. It suspected breed had correlation with susceptibility towards infection. indicated are more tolerant against worm
